DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR TRAINING?
No! All Training provided by HTA75 is FREE and accessible to all hospitality workers
DO I NEED TO GO TO AN OFFICE TO ATTEND A TRAINING?
No! Most of our trainings are provided online and only a few require in-person attendance. Any in-person training conducted by us will follow COVID-19 guidelines and protocols.
WILL MY PERSONAL INFORMATION BE KEPT PRIVATE?
Yes! As per provincial and federal law under PHIPA, we are obligated to keep all of your data private unless we are providing your information to a partnering agency – in which case we will ask your permission first.
ARE MY UNION DUES PAYING FOR THE TRAINING?
No, through a generous grant from the Government of Ontario and the Ministry of Labour Training and Skills Development, we have been able to fund training programs for hospitality workers.
DO I NEED TO REPORT HTA75 TRAINING ON MY EI?
No. Many of our trainings are not “reportable” trainings and will not impact your EI. However, always make sure to call Service Canada to ask if you are concerned about your EI status or speak to your case manager.
CAN MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY ALSO ACCESS THE TRAINING SERVICES?
No. Training is only accessible to affected hospitality workers, they are not open to everyone.
CAN I STILL ATTEND IF I’M NOT GOOD WITH COMPUTERS?
Yes! We have zoom and computer training programs for people who want to better their technological skills. We want to help you be able to attend our trainings so take advantage of our introductory computer and zoom courses.
DO I NEED TO OWN A COMPUTER TO ATTEND A TRAINING?
Yes. While some trainings are accessible over your smartphones or tablets, it is preferable to have access to a computer.
WILL HTA75 HELP ME FIND A JOB?
Yes! While we cannot guarantee employment, we can still connect you to employment service providers and/or employers who are hiring. We also have courses that will help you along your employment search journey.
