Elevate your service skills in just three weeks with our new Front of House Training.

Learn customer engagement, suggestive selling, efficient order-taking, and more from expert instructors in the field of coffee, wine and more.

These versatile skills will pave your way into various entry-level Front of House positions, including restaurants, catering, and food service establishments.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN

Part 1: Customer Service

  • Improve teamwork, communication, organization, and conflict resolution.

Part 2: Serving Skills & Banquets

  • Understand menu offerings to ensure timely delivery from kitchen to table following common steps of service etiquette

Part 3: Barista

  • Learn about coffee brewing and beans, espresso machine operations and latte art.

Part 4: Bartending

  • Master different types of spirits, beers, wines, and cocktails

Part 5: Certifications

  • Smart Serve & Food Handlers

Plus, receive personalized employment support and tips to ensure you are confident and ready for the workplace.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

AUGUST

6 - 31

DURATION: 160 hours
DAYS: Tuesday to Saturday
TIME: 9-5pm
LOCATION: In person, at different locations depending on the topic. An HTA staff member will be always present.
COST: Free

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS

  • Age 18+ years
  • Must be willing to handle alcohol
  • Full availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Eligible to work in Canada
  • Reading and writing competency (English CLB 6+)
  • Intermediate numeracy and digital literacy (for POS machines)
  • Ideal candidates: hosts, bussers, food runners, BOH staff, quick service and retail employees
