With this program, develop a thorough knowledge of Wine following the curriculum of Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET)
ABOUT
This course follows and continues the curriculum of Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 1.
This level is ideal for experienced hospitality workers pursuing an interest in wine or working already in the industry.
Complete the program by writing the WSET Award in Wines exam. Successful candidates will receive the WSET certificate and pin recognized across Canada.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN
- Gain a thorough knowledge of wine while focusing on grape varieties and how to compare them
- Study-specific wine regions, grape-growing conditions, and wine-making styles
- Learn how factors influence the quality of a wine

HOW LONG: 21 hours (online), 42 hours (in person)
HOW MUCH: FREE (Save up to $769)
WHO CAN ATTEND: Experienced servers working in the industry
HOW MANY PEOPLE (max): first come, first served
OTHER: Must apply at least 2 weeks before the start date
ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
- Acceptance to the program is conditional
- Must currently be employed in a Front of House role
- 19+ years of age
- Smart Serve certified
- For participants unable to commute to Toronto, training is only available online
- For online sessions, HTA 75 only covers registration fees and participants will be responsible for additional class materials
- Registration is sent 10 days prior to start date
- Must complete a Pre-screening
Prerequisites: Wine Workshops for Hospitality Workers and/or WSET Level 1 in Wines
Requisites: Proof of hospitality employment within the service sector
